Another Way of Knowing is a web site by Oneida Kincaid. In case you’re interested, here’s some information about me:

Year of birth: 1951.

Region: Antelope Valley in the Mojave desert (about 50-60 miles outside of Los Angeles, California).

Education: About a year’s worth of college credits, traditional Chinese herbalism.

Work experience: Varied, including unskilled factory work, cab driver, journey-level machinist, legal assistant, and traditional Chinese herbalist. Now disabled by severe post-traumatic stress disorder.

Favorite Philosophers: Gotama Buddha, Lao Tzu, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Friedrich Nietzsche, Albert Camus, Soren Kierkegaard.

Political History: Many years as a progressive activist starting with the anti-Vietnam war movement in 1968.

Some Things I Do: think too much, gardening, feral cat caretaking, research and working with parents of those with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Other: Since 1981, the mother of a bright, funny, beautiful and all-around wonderful daughter and as of May 8, 2007, grandma to the adorable and amazing little Phoenix! :-)
